Flying a corporate jet, a local scenic flight, towing banners, agricultural applications and aerial photography are just some of the many ways to exercise your privileges as a Commercial Pilot.

It is the first step toward becoming a professional pilot.

Program Requirements

In order to start on your Commercial Pilot Certificate, you’ll need to meet these requirements:

Private Pilot License (PPL)
Instrument Rating

Program Outline

Training at a tower-controlled airport like Scottsdale Airport (KSDL) is a major advantage if your goal is to eventually fly for business, on cross-country flights, or as a corporate pilot. Why?

You will be more comfortable flying into busy, controlled airspace.
You will learn to efficiently communicate with Air Traffic Controllers.
You will understand complex airport procedures.

Flight training will take place in any one of our new Cessna 172 Skyhawk aircraft, each equipped with Garmin G1000 avionics and coupled with the GFC700 autopilot. All Sierra Charlie Aviation training aircraft meet the FAA requirements for Technically Advanced Aircraft (TAA).

Students can accelerate their training time by utilizing our ALSIM Flight Simulator, an FAA approved Advanced Aviation Training Device (AATD), for up to 50 hours of the 250 flight hours required for the Commercial Pilot License.
