Q) What flight training program can I use Sallie Mae® for?
A) You may ONLY use Sallie Mae financing for our full time Aviator Career Program starting at either PPL – CFII or IR – CFII. You cannot use Sallie Mae financing for our custom flight training programs or individual ratings at Sierra Charlie Aviation.
Q) Do I need a Cosigner?
A) A cosigner is not required for a Sallie Mae loan if you qualify on your own. However, if you have a limited credit history, we strongly recommend having a creditworthy cosigner, as it will significantly improve your chances of getting approved.
Q) What is the interest rate for a Sallie Mae® pilot training loan?
A) Sallie Mae® offers both fixed-rate loans and variable-rate loans. Specific interest rates are based on a number of variables. Once you complete your application, Sallie Mae® will let you know what your options are. To see the current interest rate ranges, visit Sallie Mae®’s website here.
Q) Can a Sallie Mae® loan be used to pay for a private pilot license (or any other individual rating)?
A) Sallie Mae loan may only be used toward our Aviator Career Program.
