Dreaming of becoming a pilot? There are many flight schools to choose from, but none can match the level of service we provide at Sierra Charlie Aviation.

Whether you are simply curious or have already made the decision to move forward with your training, the more qustions you ask and information you gather, the more comfortable you’ll feel learning to fly. Pilot training is governed by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). In order to become a pilot, the following FAA requirements must be met:

  • You must be at least 17 years of age to obtain a license
    • You can start training earlier
  • Pass a medical exam
  • Complete training and flight time specific to an FAR Part 61 or 141 School
  • Pass a written knowledge test
  • Complete a successful checkride, which includes an oral, and flight examination

If you are new to aviation, the best way to decide if flying is for you is through a Discovery Flight. Your discovery flight is the first opportunity for you to take the controls of the aircraft and get first-hand experience in the pilot’s seat. One of our FAA Approved Flight Instructors will take you through a pre-flight briefing and your first flight experience. This first lesson costs only $199, and counts toward your minimum requirements for your license.
