Accelerated CFI Training Arizona

Sierra Charlie Aviation offers accelerated CFI training in sunny Scottsdale, Arizona. If you are looking to become a certificated flight instructor, then we have you covered.

Sunny Scottsdale

Scottsdale, Arizona has perfect flying weather. With over 300 days of sunny and clear skies a year, our climate is ideal for student pilots. Sierra Charlie Aviation is conveniently based out of the Scottsdale Airport (SDL), a tower-controlled airport with an 8,249-foot runway that provides quick and safe access to local practice areas and nearby airports.

Accelerated programs

At Sierra Charlie Aviation, we offer a variety of accelerated flight training programs. Our accelerated private pilot course lasts just 3-4 weeks; our instrument training lasts just 2-3 weeks; and our commercial pilot training lasts only 2-3 weeks as well.

We offer two accelerated CFI training courses—the first (CFI) lasting 3-4 weeks and the second (CFII) lasting 2-3 weeks. Whichever course you are interested in, you will be able to fit our programs into your schedule.

CFI Requirements

What are the requirements for gaining a CFI certification? Here are the official guidelines:

  • You must be at least 18 years of age.
  • You must read, speak, and understand English.
  • You must hold a commercial or ATP (airline transportation pilot) certificate.
  • You must hold at least a current third-class FAA medical certificate.
  • You must achieve a score of 70% or better on the FAA Flight Instructor knowledge test.

If you have already met some of these requirements but need to be able to score well on the FAA test, then our accelerated CFI program may be just right for you.

 About CFI Training

The CFI is not really a pilot certificate, it’s a teaching certificate. A person who holds a flight instructor certificate (called a “certificated flight instructor” or CFI) is authorized to train, endorse, sign-off, check, and examine student pilots. CFIIs are responsible for teaching pilots how to fly in instrument conditions.

Many pilots who want to work in professional aviation become CFIs or CFIIs in order to build the necessary experience.

Our CFI Training syllabus will help you develop the pilot decision-making skills that will make you a quality instructor, and it incorporates real-world scenarios that pilots face every day.

Our Instructors

Sierra Charlie Aviation has been selected as one of the top flight schools in the country by the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA), and our owner and senior flight instructor, Scott Campbell, was named as one of the top 1% of instructors in the United States along with senior flight instructor, Tom DeYoung.

Our team of instructors is rich and varied, with a number of different aviation backgrounds represented. This allows for a variety of teaching styles and methods to be represented.
